In the appendix and colon, moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining of axons is observed in the Auerbach’s and Meissner’s plexus, and at least moderate cytoplasmic staining of endocrine cells of the mucosal tissue. Cytoplasmic staining is also observed in neuronal and neuroendocrine tumors. This antibody is a useful tool for identifying and classifying neuronal and neuroendocrine tumors when used in a panel of antibodies.
