George R. Kennedy

Mr. Kennedy possess over 40 years of experience in the laboratory diagnostics field.  He joined Sakura Finetek in April 2011 directly from GTI Diagnostics, Inc. where he served as Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing from 2010 to 2011 during which the company was acquired by Gen-Probe.  From 1999 to 2010, Mr. Kennedy was Vice President and General Manager of North America for Leica Microsystems (a Danaher Company) with responsibility for sales, marketing and service for the Biosystems Division and was deeply involved in strategic planning of new products and strategic acquisitions and integration of three acquired companies.  From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Kennedy worked as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Vysis, Inc. a genomic disease management company that was acquired by Abbott Diagnostics.  Before joining Vysis, Mr. Kennedy worked as Director of Sales and Marketing at Difco Laboratories (now Becton Dickenson) from 1992-1996.  Mr. Kennedy also worked as Director of Marketing at Dianon Systems (now Laboratory Corporation of America) from 1990 to 1992.   Mr. Kennedy started his career as a Medical Technologist and transitioned from clinical work into industry with positions of increasing responsibility in sales, sales management, product management and marketing management.  

Mr. Kennedy graduated from University of Massachusetts at Salem with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  He also graduated with an MBA from Suffolk University in Boston.
